St. Paul Loses Hughie Pardoe
Saturday, June 12th , 2032
Hughie Pardoe at first refused to leave today's Kansas City-St. Paul game after he suffered a strained posterior cruciate ligament while running the bases. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I want to be on the field," the feisty St. Paul shortstop said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Pardoe out of action for 6 weeks.

This season Pardoe is swinging the bat at a .229 rate with 52 hits in 227 at-bats. To date he has hit 4 home runs, scored 28 runs and driven in 19.
