Virtual Baseball League Picks Top Player Monday, July 18th , 2005 Ryan Zimmerman demonstrated his potential to be a star in the game last week and today he took home the Virtual Baseball League Player of the Week Award. The Cleveland third baseman wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers last week, pounding them for a .526 average (10-for-19) with 3 home runs and 7 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor. This year, Zimmerman is hitting .318, produced 38 RBIs and 11 home runs, scored 39 times and gotten on base at a .389 rate. |
