Hours after speaking to the press about his 20-game hitting streak, McCleary left fielder Alonso Gonzáles went hitless in 3 at-bats today at 420 Park. The sudden hitting drought came as the Sasquatch took the 4-2 win over the Sausalito Meatballs. "Nope, it's not magic," Gonzáles said in his postgame press conference. "Nobody jinxed me. Streaks don't last forever. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits." This year Gonzáles is batting .287 with 10 home runs. He has scored 54 runs and driven in 54. |
