Brooklyn Takes Divisional Wildcard Series in Deciding Game
Saturday, October 3rd, 2020
The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat were on full display tonight at Jackie Robinson Park as the Divisional Wildcard Series stretched to the final game.

It was the Brooklyn Bats feeling the thrill of victory, with a 3-2 win over the Savannah Fighting Bananas, who were feeling the devastation of coming up short in their quest to make the League Divisional Series.

"There's no way around it -- this sucks," said Savannah manager Mike Scioscia. "Congratulations to Brooklyn, but I won't sugarcoat it, no one is happy about anything that transpired here tonight."

Instrumental in the 2-1 series win was third baseman George Glover, who was named MVP. He hit .417 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 1 runs.

"We've got the most important stat of all and that's this final win -- that's the one that matters," he said.

The Brooklyn Bats will play against the Cooperstown Camels in the next round. Cooperstown had a bye in the Divisional Wildcard Series. The League Divisional Series schedule will be announced after the Divisional Wildcard Series finishes.
