Jenkins Shines in Perfect Game
Thursday, May 4th, 2017
Over the course of baseball history, some moments stand a little taller than others. One of those moments happened today at Tonini Field.

Pacifica right-hander Bob Jenkins threw a perfect game at as the Pantalones beat the Albuquerque Atomics, 6-0. In his post-game comments, Jenkins told reporters that it was something he had never dreamed of.

"As a kid, you always think of pitching to win the final game of a championship," Jenkins said. "You never think of pitching a perfect game, because it just seems unattainable. I'll remember this day for the rest of my life."

By the end of the game, Jenkins had rung up 11 Albuquerque hitters on strikeouts, and did not allow a single baserunner. The fans gave Jenkins a standing ovation as he left the mound, knowing they had witnessed one of the rarest events in the sport.

To this point in the season, Jenkins shows a 3-3 record, 7 starts, 49.1 innings, 57 strikeouts and a 2.92 ERA.
