With catcher Steve Fallon leading the charge, the Bugaboo Creek Caribou defeated the Sausalito Meatballs, 8-3, at The Bugaboo Lodge. Fallon went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Ben Parks, the winning pitcher, improved to 4-2. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 9 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 0 and walking 1. With the win, the Caribou have a record of 32-27.
Tim Benton dealt the Meatballs a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with the bases loaded and Bugaboo Creek leading 3-1, Benton, who finished 4th in the NL in OPS with 1.025 in 2018, hit a full count fastball for a 2-run single.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Fallon. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
