Tropics Reel-In 5-0 Win Over Copperheads
|
Puerto Rico pitcher Huibert Meijer did his part in helping his team beat the Cumberland Copperheads, 5-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Puerto Rico has now won 3 in a row.
The game was on the line with two out in the bottom of the seventh inning, but Ken Aafjes didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Cumberland trailing 1-0, Aafjes retired Donald Leadbetter to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Aafjes, with a wink.
