Muckdogs Earn 3-2 Win Versus Copperheads
|
Cumberland got a terrific performance from pitcher Steve Lowry, but it wasn't enough to beat the Kiawah Island Muckdogs. Kiawah Island won the The MuckPit contest, 3-2. Lowry threw 7.1 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. César Torres notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record now sits at 5-6. The 6th-place Muckdogs lifted their record to 75-87.
Severino Louredo was the walk-off hero for Kiawah Island. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Muckdogs pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This joint was rocking," said Louredo.
