BigStars Get Past Stratford for 5-4 Win
The Austin BigStars weathered a fine game by Stratford center fielder John Hester to upend the Cosmos, 5-4, at Googleplex. Hester was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Austin reliever Mike Cox picked up the win, upping his record to 3-6. Héctor Montoya was saddled with the loss. The win elevated the BigStars to 88-64.

Austin took a 5-4 lead on Vincente Soto's 14th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Stratford pitcher Héctor Montoya in the bottom of the eighth.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Soto said.
