Muckdogs Lose to Reds, 4-1
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Kiawah Island Muckdogs and Shelbyville Reds get after it.
Shelbyville left-hander Trey Schurman pitched his team to victory over the Kiawah Island Muckdogs at Pete Rose Field. The final score was 4-1. Schurman, now 3-4, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Rafael García sewed up the save, his 8th.
Francisco Miranda hit a run-scoring triple off Raúl Mateo in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Reds in front, 1-0. Miranda had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 3.
"We take it day by day here," said Miranda, "and today was a good one for us."
The win gives the Reds a record of 17-34.
