Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Union
|
The Kittanning Union took Nashville pitcher Emílio Rosas's best shot and still were able to claim a win at First Tennessee Park. The final score had Kittanning getting past the Predators, 4-1. Rosas went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 3. Kittanning reliever Manuel Vázquez was the winner. His record is now 7-5. The losing pitcher was Ken Holland. Kittanning now has a record of 74-64 with the win.
Adley Rutschman, the 26-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Rutschman contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Kittanning up, 3-1.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Kittanning manager Dan Haley.
