The San Francisco Giants got a stellar performance from pitcher Kip Wells, who handcuffed the Cincinnati offense en route to a win, 7-2, at Cinergy Field. San Francisco has run its win streak to 5 straight.

Alfonso Soriano provided a timely hit. The San Francisco second baseman delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Giants on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Alexis Sanchez.
