Bugaboo Creek starter Gerwin de Moor had a strong outing against the Death Valley Buzzards at The Bugaboo Lodge. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 3-2 win. The winning pitcher was de Moor, now 10-7. He tossed 5.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 3. Bugaboo Creek's record now stands at 76-59, placing them second in the Anderson League Sabathia Division.

The Buzzards had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Caribou going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 30-year old catcher Ray Jones came to the plate. Jones hit a 3-run home run on a 0-2 changeup from Death Valley hurler Eric Ford. It was Jones's 4th home run of the year.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Jones, "and then get after it again."
