6 Straight Wins for Buzzards
The Death Valley Buzzards extended their winning streak.

In the 9-2 Death Valley win over Corpus Christi, the impact of Xander Bogaerts was substantial. Bogaerts, who finished 4th in the AL in wins above replacement with 6.4 in 2024, was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. The Honey Butter Chicken Biscuits, now 12-20, continue their inauspicious start.

Bogaerts contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Death Valley in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 2-0, Bogaerts took a changeup from Gerrit Cole and stroked the home run to left-center. His 9th home run of the season allowed the Buzzards to leap in front, 3-2.

"I thought we played a nice game," Bogaerts told the Death Valley Bulletin. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
