White Sox Fall Short, 1-0, at Pittsburgh
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Chicago White Sox, Darrell May was the X factor. The Pittsburgh left-hander spearheaded the 1-0 win. The Pittsburgh win streak is now 3 games.
The Pirates got a big boost from third baseman Doug Mientkiewicz who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off White Sox hurler Noah Lowry. It was his 5th walk of the season and put Pittsburgh on top, 1-0.
"We leaned on our pitching tonight," Mientkiewicz said.
