Camels Clip BigStars 6-5 in DWS Contest
|
Austin first baseman Vincente Soto pounded Cooperstown Camels pitchers at DoubleHump Field, but it was not enough to keep the BigStars from falling, 6-5 in Game 2 of the Divisional Wildcard Series. Soto was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once, though he couldn't prevent the BigStars from slipping into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-3 series.
The Camels took the lead in the bottom of the fourth when Cody Bellinger banged a two-out home run. Cooperstown had been trailing 2-1, but Bellinger hit a 0-1 fastball from Dusty Bowden for a 3-run home run.
"It was a solid team effort," said Bellinger after the game.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at DoubleHump Field in Cooperstown.
