Rodríguez, BigStars Wallop Camels in Game 1 of DWS
With first baseman Javier Rodríguez leading the charge, the Austin BigStars got a road win over the Cooperstown Camels, 9-1, in Game 1 of the Divisional Wildcard Series today. Rodríguez was 2-5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 at DoubleHump Field to help Austin take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 series.

The BigStars took a 4-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning. Facing Cooperstown hurler Dirk Coleman with no outs, Rodríguez hit a 2-run home run.

Rodríguez told a Austin Herald reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at DoubleHump Field in Cooperstown.
