Wrigley Field was the site of a tense game between the Chicago Cubs and Philadelphia Phillies.

Philadelphia picked up a win at Wrigley Field, bumping off the Chicago Cubs, 3-2. Pitcher Brett Myers was a major reason the Phillies emerged victorious. Myers, now 10-12, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs.

Philadelphia used the timely hitting of Jason Michaels to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Phillies on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Chicago manager Adam Creed.

The win puts the Phillies at 67-86, while the Cubs drop to 82-71.
