Behind the hitting of Richard Hidalgo, the San Francisco Giants stopped the New York Mets, 6-3. Hidalgo was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Giants. The Giants win now puts them at 81-67.

With San Francisco leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Hidalgo hit a fastball from Joe Blanton for a solo home run. It was his 23rd home run of the season and put the Giants ahead, 2-0.

"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Hidalgo told the San Francisco Citizen.
