Higgins Smacks 5 Hits for Wolverines
Fans at Pete Beiden Field got to see not only a home-team victory today, but also one of the most impressive feats of hitting of the season.

The Simeon Wolverines outplayed the Pascack Hills Cowboys en route to a 8-3 win, but the standout was left fielder Bob Higgins. Higgins netted 5 hits in 5 at-bats and finished with a dynamite game line.

"Hey, we tried everything we could think of to get him out," Cowboys manager Chris Montgomery said in postgame comments. "We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the sink, too."

Bob Higgins doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Michael Chapman in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Jesús Castaneda in the 8th.

So far this season Higgins has gotten 98 hits in 300 at-bats for a .327 batting average with 13 home runs. His stats include 51 RBIs and 46 runs scored. He has played in 99 games.
