|
New York and Montreal got after it at Yankee Stadium.
New York Yankees starter Ryan Kibler pitched his team past the Montreal Expos, 6-2. In 6.2 innings, Kibler surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs.
David Bell helped out the New York cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the second baseman drew 2 walks.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Tom Johnston.
With the win, New York raised its record to 71-64.
