Lakers Walk It Off for 44th Win of Season
The Oklahoma City Cyclones got a superb performance from pitcher Chua-kah Wu. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Echo Park. The Lakers won the game, 4-3. Wu threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Echo Park pitcher Tony Velasco got the win, upping his record to 2-2. Miguel González got the loss. The Lakers saw their record improve to 44-62.

Alejandro Mendoza was the walk-off hero for Echo Park. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Lakers third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Oklahoma City skipper John Smoltz.
