BigStars Get One-Run Win at Stratford
The Stratford Cosmos got a sterling performance from pitcher Archie Esparza, but the Austin BigStars still prevailed, 5-4. Esparza threw 7.0 innings allowing 5 runs. Charles Parsons was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 27 of 31 save opportunities. With the win, Austin upped its record to 66-39.

Austin used the bat of Ira Howell to get the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the BigStars ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Howell, "and then get after it again."
