Copperheads Win at Omaha, 3-1
|
Getting an impressive start from Troy Patterson, Cumberland beat Omaha by the score of 3-1. Roger Taylor recorded the save, his 28th. With the win, Cumberland pushed its record to 58-47.
Cumberland used the timely hitting of Eric Bower to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Copperheads on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Cumberland manager David Eckstein.
