Bandits Earn 9-6 Win Against Tropics
|
No one was more impactful than Pablo Martínez in the 9-6 Omaha win over Puerto Rico. Martínez, who led the AL in home runs with 52 in 2028, was 3 for 6 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 4 runs and drove in 3. With the victory, the Bandits upped their record to 48-48.
With the game in the balance, help came for the Bandits from the most obvious of places: Their star designated hitter Martínez, the fan favorite . With two out in the top of the 13th, Martínez delivered a 2-run double, making the score 8-6, Omaha. It was the 18th double of the season for Martínez.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Mal Reeves.
