The Death Valley Buzzards picked up a win at Roberto Clemente Park, knocking off the Puerto Rico Tropics, 5-2. On the mound for Death Valley was right-hander Ramón Ríos, who played a pivotal role in the win. Ríos got the win, improving to 6-6. He allowed 4 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. Ríos allowed 1 run. Death Valley is now riding a 3-game win streak.

Death Valley relied on the bat of Xander Bogaerts to get the win. The second baseman ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the second inning to put the Buzzards ahead, 1-0. For the game, Bogaerts had 1 double and 1 triple in 4 at-bats.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Death Valley manager Brennan Baker.
