Tigers Hewitt Smacks 5 Hits
|
Curt Hewitt put on a hitting clinic today as the Cocoa Tigers dumped the Rio Americano Raiders 10-2 at Jay Bergman Field.
The Cocoa first baseman made Rio Americano defenders earn their pay, lashing Rio Americano pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Hewitt said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Curt Hewitt hit a solo-shot off Jim Thornton in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Dave Johnson in the 8th.
So far this season Hewitt is hitting .311 with 5 home runs.
