Sánchez Bangs 3 HR Against Kauai Sunday, May 2nd , 2027 It was a day for the record books for Kitscoty Cavaliers center fielder Roberto Sánchez, who walloped three out of DoubleHump Field against the Chiefs. However, not even a three-homer game could prevent the Chiefs from taking the 9-7 victory. "We threw some good pitches and they hit 'em, and we made some bad pitches and they hit 'em. That's a good strategy for losing ballgames," Kitscoty skipper Don Dorey joked after the loss. Sánchez still had a few opportunities to celebrate along the way. He was 3-for-5 for the day, batting in 5 runs and scoring 3 times. "I never, ever thought I would hit three home runs," Sánchez said. "I hit three home runs once when I was 12 in Little League and I thought that was going to be the last time." Roberto Sánchez hit a solo-shot off Eddy Randín in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Eddy Randín in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Juan Cantú in the 6th and struck out in the 7th. For the year Sánchez has hit at a .356 clip with 18 RBIs, 8 home runs and 25 runs scored. |
