Hernández Torches Tigers for 5 Hits
Wednesday, August 28th , 2030
After a 5-hit effort to lead Stratford Northwestern's 6-5 victory over the St. Xavier Tigers, second baseman Francisco Hernández told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the National High School Federation-level is really something special."

The 16-year-old player earned his accolades today at Varsity Field with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Tigers.

"His swing is getting there," said Huskies skipper Esteban González, who spoke glowingly of Hernández after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Francisco did that to perfection today."

Francisco Hernández singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

Hernández is presently hitting at a .358 pace with 2 home runs and 60 RBIs. He has played in 120 games and scored 133 times.
