Hit Streak Now at 33 for Hernández Wednesday, August 15th , 2029 The Stratford Northwestern Huskies fell to the Sacred Heart Cathedral Fightin' Irish in Dante Benedetti Diamond at Max Ulrich Field today, even as 15-year-old second baseman Francisco Hernández upped his consecutive-game hitting streak to 33 games. Hernández finished with 2 hits in 5 at-bats, but could not stop the Huskies from dropping the 13-10 decision. "Yeah, I kept my streak going, but it would have been better to come away with a win," said Hernández. Francisco Hernández hit an RBI triple in the 1st, hit a GRAND SLAM off Stewart Spooner in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, was hit by a pitch in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and flied out in the 9th. Thus far this year Hernández has hit .395 with 4 home runs and 82 RBIs. |
