Heathcote Socks It to Lobos, Cracks 5 Hits Thursday, July 12th , 2029 Rupert Heathcote exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Bannerwood Park. The Elma second baseman had a field day in the 19-7 triumph over the La Cueva Lobos, finishing 5-for-5. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Heathcote must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Rupert Heathcote singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Larry Anderson in the 4th, singled in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. To date Heathcote has chalked up a .324 average with 6 home runs, driven in 38 runs and scored 55 times. View Boxscore |
