5-for-5 Day for Rosa
Sunday, August 15th , 2032
The 5th time is the charm -- at least for Raúl Rosa.
The third baseman for the Connecticut Huskies hit the milestone today against the Tennessee Volunteers, helping his club to a narrow 16-15 victory. Rosa finished with a 5-for-5 line at the plate.
"Rosa was a tough out today," Tennessee manager Esteban German told the press in the postgame interview. "If it weren't for him, I think we had this one."
Raúl Rosa singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Andrew Fuller in the 4th, walked in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 7th, walked in the 9th and singled in the 11th.
This year Rosa has socked 88 hits in 296 at-bats for a .297 average with 12 home runs. He is getting on base at a .358 pace and his totals also include 61 RBIs and 51 runs scored.
