Hit Parade: Machado Pops 5 Hits Saturday, July 31st , 2032 San Jose State center fielder Luis Machado had a day to remember today, 5-for-5 against the Southern Illinois Salukis at San Jose Municipal Stadium as the Spartans picked up a 8-4 victory. "He was patient up there today," San Jose State skipper Roy Burns told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly aggressive. Machado has a tendency to chase bad balls sometimes." Luis Machado hit a solo-shot off Zachariah Yates in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 8th.
