Miller Bashes 5 Base Hits
Tuesday, July 27th , 2032
After a 5-hit effort to lead Illinois's 11-8 victory over the East Carolina Pirates, right fielder Dorian Miller told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the College Baseball-level is really something special."

The 19-year-old player earned his accolades today at Illinois Field with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Pirates.

"His swing is getting there," said Fightin' Illini skipper Lee Rice, who spoke glowingly of Miller after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Dorian did that to perfection today."

Dorian Miller singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 5th, walked in the 7th and singled in the 8th.

This season Miller is batting .341 with 59 hits, 2 home runs, 18 RBIs, .404 OBP and has scored 27 runs.
