Long Beach State third baseman Keith Lane thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Long Beach State to a 8-4 win over UTRGV. "Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Lane said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run." Lane was 3-for-5 on the day with 6 runs batted in. Keith Lane hit a two-run home run off Eric Wakely in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Maup van Lochem in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Maup van Lochem in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. During the current season Lane is batting at a .351 clip with 31 home runs and 77 RBIs. He has played in 74 games and scored 69 times. |
