20-Game Streak Ends, McCord Hitless
Thursday, July 8th , 2032
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons pitching staff did its job today, holding hot-hitting Darrell McCord hitless in 4 at-bats during the club's 5-4 victory over the Villanova Wildcats at Gene Hooks Field at Wake Forest Baseball Park. The disappointing performance ended a 20-game hitting streak for the left fielder.
"I'm a little down right now," McCord said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too."
A look at his current stats shows McCord with a .343 average, 25 home runs, 56 RBIs and 48 runs scored. He has played in 76 games.
