5-for-5 Day for James
Wednesday, July 7th , 2032
After a 5-hit effort to lead Rice's 11-3 victory over the South Alabama Jaguars, center fielder Emory James told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the College Baseball-level is really something special."

The 19-year-old player earned his accolades today at Eddie Stanky Field with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Jaguars.

"His swing is getting there," said Owls skipper Tim Baker, who spoke glowingly of James after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Emory did that to perfection today."

Emory James tripled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Arnaldo Hernández in the 9th.

James on the season is batting .239 with 2 home runs. His totals include 8 RBIs and 13 runs scored. He has played in 49 games.
