González Hits for the Cycle Wednesday, June 23rd , 2032 The Texas Longhorns wasted a big day at the plate by second baseman Ramón González today in a 7-4 loss to the UC Riverside Highlanders. González hit for the cycle, stroking 4 hits off the UC Riverside pitching staff in a losing effort. "I actually didn't feel particularly great out there today," González said in the clubhouse following the loss. "It was kind of random chance that the balls found some gaps, and here we are." For the day, he finished 4-for-5, had 1 RBI and scored 2 runs. Ramón González singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, tripled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Takamuku Wada in the 7th and doubled in the 9th. Thus far this season González is hitting .273 with 1 home run, 10 RBIs and 28 runs scored. He has 48 hits in 176 at-bats and has played in 55 games. View Boxscore |
