5-Hit Blitz by Xavier's Thomas Saturday, June 19th , 2032 It was a sensational day at the plate for Dave Thomas as he led the charge to a 12-6 win over the Crimson Tide. The Xavier left fielder was pure misery for the Alabama pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "Thomas put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Dave MacKinney, manager for the Crimson Tide, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Dave Thomas singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Ángelo Caballero in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit a three-run home run off Javier Valverde in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
