Thomas Aguirre discovered that today at Doak Field, as he smashed three home runs during the 11-10 North Carolina State Wolfpack win over the Villanova Wildcats. "I got three balls to hit and nailed all three of them," the North Carolina State first baseman said in his postgame interview. "The first was a hanging curve, the second was right down the middle and the last one was a good pitch, but I guessed right and put the wood to it." Aguirre finished the day with 3 hits in 6 at-bats and 5 RBIs. Thomas Aguirre struck out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Howard Davis in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off José Rivera in the 7th, hit a solo-shot off Ted Lewis in the 9th and grounded out in the 11th. For the year Aguirre is batting .272 with 7 home runs, 19 RBIs and 23 runs scored. |
