5-for-5 Day for Cunningham Thursday, June 10th , 2032 Sacramento State center fielder Bart Cunningham had a big day at Blair Field today against the Long Beach State 49ers. The 18-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led the Hornets to a 7-0 triumph over Long Beach State. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Cunningham said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Bart Cunningham hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, doubled in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th. This season Cunningham is swinging the bat at a .323 rate with 64 hits in 198 at-bats. To date he has hit 8 home runs, scored 45 runs and driven in 40. View Boxscore |
