Hawkins Sizzles with 20-Game Batting Streak Wednesday, June 2nd , 2032 John Hawkins, first baseman for the Villanova Wildcats, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games with 2 hits in his club's 9-5 victory today over the Binghamton Bearcats at Villanova Ballpark at Plymouth today. "I don't really know why it's even happening," he said with a grin after the game. "So asking me how long I can keep it up is kind of irrelevant. It'll end when it ends." John Hawkins grounded out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 7th and flied out in the 8th. Looking at his present stats, Hawkins has compiled a .333 batting average in 46 games with a .388 on-base percentage, while hitting 11 home runs and driving in 37 runs. |
