Yi Parks 3 for North Carolina State
Saturday, May 11th , 2030
Mun-yeong Yi of the Wolfpack won the battle against Minnesota pitching, but lost the war. He hit three out of the park at Doak Field, got his name in the league record book, but North Carolina State came up short in the win column, losing to the Golden Gophers 9-6. The North Carolina State first baseman was red-hot, the ball just exploded off his bat all day long.

"I don't try to hit homers," he said. "I try to go out there and have good at-bats. If I put a good swing on the ball, then it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one. I just try to have good at-bats."

For the game he went 4 for 4 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored.

Where does he rank this day in his career? "It's up there," Yi said. "I'll put it up there in the upper echelon, despite the loss."

Mun-yeong Yi singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Hitoshi Ito in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Hitoshi Ito in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Daniel Davies in the 8th.

This season Yi is hitting .322 with 28 hits, 10 home runs, 23 RBIs, scored 19 runs and played in 24 games.
