Clark Strokes 5 Hits Monday, May 31st , 2032 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Stephen Clark is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-7 against the Albany Great Danes at Varsity Field today. The monster effort from the 18-year-old shortstop helped the LSU Tigers take the win, 24-3. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Great Danes manager Timo Perez. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Stephen Clark singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Gerardo Hernández in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Augusto Ganuza in the 6th, struck out in the 7th, hit a two-run home run off Martín Sión in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th. This year Clark has hit at a .309 pace and produced 31 RBIs, 15 home runs and scored 27 runs. View Boxscore |
