Smashing Success: Clark Wallops 3 HR Monday, May 31st , 2032 LSU Tigers shortstop Stephen Clark left the Albany pitching staff in ruins at Varsity Field today, beating the Great Danes 24-3 with a prodigious three-home run performance. "The last one was totally unexpected," Clark told reporters at the press conference following his big game. "I just wanted to make good contact, never thinking I would get a home run, and bang, I got number three." For the game, the LSU shortstop had 5 hits in 7 at-bats, drove in 4 and scored 5 runs. Stephen Clark singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Gerardo Hernández in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Augusto Ganuza in the 6th, struck out in the 7th, hit a two-run home run off Martín Sión in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th. This season Clark is batting .309 with 15 home runs. He has scored 27 runs and driven in 31. |
