Peterson Brilliant -- Fires No-Hitter Monday, May 17th , 2032 UTRGV Vaqueros starter Woody Peterson was unhittable today at UTRGV Baseball Stadium. Peterson beat the McNeese State Cowboys 4-0, breezing through the Cowboys lineup en route to a no-hitter. "I thought Woody started off a little slow and was struggling with his command at first," Vaqueros manager Matt Greer said later. "He lucked his way through the early innings, and they helped him out by not being patient. Eventually, it all came together for him, and from there on the Cowboys never had a chance. He dominated them." Peterson struck out 10 batters and issued 1 walk in the performance. Thus far this season Peterson has posted a 2-2 record, started 6 games, struck out 26 batters in 33 innings and compiled a 3.00 ERA. View Boxscore |
