Carl Reynolds Strokes 3 Home Runs Sunday, May 9th , 2032 UC Irvine Anteaters left fielder Carl Reynolds sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Missouri Tigers, Reynolds told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Reynolds pushed the Anteaters past the Tigers, 11-2. To go along with the homers, he collected 4 RBIs and scored 5 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Reynolds told reporters after the game. Carl Reynolds hit a solo-shot off José Rosário in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Natsume Uchiyama in the 4th, walked in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Juan Sánchez in the 8th. Batting .293 to date, Reynolds has 4 home runs and 10 RBIs. |
