Mudcats Lester June's #1 Pitcher Friday, July 1st , 2005 The Eastern League named the winner of the Pitcher of the Month Award. It went to Jon Lester of Carolina Mudcats, who impressed the voters with a glittering 5-0 record in June. The Carolina star hurler made 6 starts, allowed 25 hits in 39 innings, struck out 38 and had a 1.62 ERA. Lester has made 16 starts so far this year and put up a 7-1 won-lost record with a 2.40 ERA. In 97.2 innings he has allowed 76 hits, walked 35 and struck out 100. |
