Super Swinger -- DeWitt Slams 5 Hits Friday, June 24th , 2005 It was a parade of hits for Blake DeWitt of the Trenton Thunder at Mercer County Waterfront Park. Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, DeWitt finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the Thunder to a win, 11-8. "DeWitt was really good and we were really bad," groaned Rock Cats manager Jim Moore. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him." Blake DeWitt singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Marc Kaiser in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th and hit a three-run home run off Kevin Jenson in the 7th. DeWitt is currently batting .259 with 6 home runs and 24 RBIs. |
