Cardinals Heading to College Divisional Round 2 Monday, September 22nd , 2031 With a 8-4 victory at Abe Martin Field, the Lamar Cardinals have completed a sweep of the Southern Illinois Salukis in the College Divisional Round 1. "On to the College Divisional Round 2 and feeling good," said Jeffrey Campbell. "I don't think our guys expected a sweep, but we'll certainly take it and rest up a bit." For the series, Campbell hit .375 and won series MVP honors. He had 2 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 2 runs. The Lamar Cardinals don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the San Jose State Spartans - Nebraska Corn Huskers series. That series is tied at 1 game each.
